meet THE man repeller

hi, please meet Leandra Medine aka. THE MAN REPELLER.
here's an intro!

my newest inspiration! style. quirkiness. fab taste. daring. out there. hilarious.
she's the perrrfect doll!

my kind of cup of tea is her, take a look. purely I would wear her. legit.
she takes one simple dress or blouse or jeans or overcoat and creates a master piece of art that should be displayed in the Louvre I must say.
her mix of prints with feathers and fur and leather is absolutely unimaginable. quite a stunner.

mum would tell me to get undress and wear something a little subtle..

celebrating mulberry's 40th anniversary

now, have not posted for..a week. but still as promised. at least one post per week.
went down to Sydney (survived the #AshCloud commotion - without delayed/cancelled flights *lucky me) for one night to organise my US Visa and had to do a little shopping! well a little splurge :)
stumbled upon dearest Mulberry!
But first story goes, I was seeking a temporary wallet, a substitute as my ultimate-prized wallet is currently unreachable at the moment or more like, discontinued for the mean time (including in US and its origin - Paris). yes, I am very devastated! but fingers cross for next season!!

Anyway, my newest (substitute) purchase is a "Bayswater Pouch soft spongy" in Hot Pink.
suede interior
Colour wise I'm still a little hesitant! but no regrets..as just yet.
the sales assistant was quite helpful, saying the silver buckle matches my silver accessories, but I responded with "no I wear Gold more". Which was untrue at that time, as I was wearing a white watch with silver linings and links, Thomas Sabo bracelet with silver clippings and my Hermes bracelet with the silver plates. buttt, I had a gold ring and necklace!!!

can not wait until the leather ages and becomes soft!

Regardless of the colour I ended up buying it! and it totally matches my Double Kelly Hermes bracelet with the similar buckle!

but I wish it wish bigger and more "spongy"
like these little beauties,

scented sense

Every blog has to have a scent post. well this is my turn.
Here I will show my top 5 scents I adore &yet to be collected.
I always want to be one of those girls who keeps to one scent for easy recognition, but now there are just numerous little trinkets of bottles with ah-mazing features, that I can no longer resist. So I have decided to start collecting and use for different occasions. It will definitely look oh-so charming on my dressing table.

1. all-rounder
Eau De Parfum Chloé
a scent of traditional rose. now who would not want to smell like roses? It is such an everyday smell, both for daytime and evening.
&the bottle, no need for explanation. It's all there, petite, soft pink ribbed ribbon - such an iconic look.

2. attraction
Her Eau De Parfum Narciso Rodriguez
a musky scent that will dig into your skin and last forever. one of the sexiest perfumes rated by men. it's a i-am-on-the-prowl-tonight!
"a precious  thing encased  in architecture" - Narciso Rodriguez
This has been my all-time favourite, it's a ..always have, always been for me. I would without doubt use this as an all-rounder as well, but more of an evening wear.

3. playful
Eau De Toilette Daisy Marc Jacobs
think a fruit basket of strawberries, grapefruits and apples with violet and jasmine petals.
Use this for a play-date at the park or even before going for a morning/afternoon jog. it'll help with the awkward moment when you're ordering a cup of coffee when the barista can smell you, or..when you're heading back up into the apartment and having to share an elevator with a few businessmen.

4. girly-princessy
Eau De Toilette Princess Vera Wang
fruits &flowers with a hint of vanilla, such  a sweet, sweet delicate scent.
ladies, who have not thought for a second they wished to be a princess? i know I have. this perfume is perfect when you're feeling a little extra special! (princess special, that is), when you've just been spoilt. about to head to a hens night, baby shower, shopping spree. anything that screams out laces, florals, picket white fence, floppy hats and tea parties. the days when you're oh-so let's-play-dress-up!

5. the classic
Eau De Parfum Chanel No.5
it's a classic. of course this would be in the top five.
we're all familiar with the name, but not many actually have smelt it. does it resemble Gabrielle Chanel? I'm still having thoughts on that.
floral and feminine. it comes in various shapes and sizes as its renewed over and over again. but as it is an icon, i would  definitely purchase the original. it's a symbol of elegance and luxury for women. the bottle may be very simple - clear transparent square bottle with a - what it looks like - white sticker indicating the words Chanel, No. 5, Paris, Eau De Parfum. honestly, it's not the most desirable bottle but it is a must for perfume collectors.

_____

as said previously, perfumes will be used as occasions meaning a different outfit for a different scent. next post? outfits and scents that go hand in hand.

katie vs blair

Sitting watching the news, I never thought to spot this similarity.
The newly wedded Duke&Duchess of Cambridge had just attended a charity dinner - now that's not the point.
But of course, what, oh what is dear katie waitie wearing?
A Jenny Packham shimmering dress from Spring/Summer 2011 collection (which is ah-mazing! - keep scrolling)

I took a step closer to the TV instantly and noticed the pink sequinned tulle is rather similar..to how could I forget, Miss Blair Waldorf! Could it be? Blair and Kate, same designer?
and as a Gossip Girl obsessed - yes I notice these things - what a coincidence, Blair becoming a Duchess as well. Did my research! and voila! It came down to Jenny Packham

Yes, you're right, it was a different dress.
Blair's dress cuts off just at her knee, while Katie
took the full, body shaping gown. I must say it looked amazing on her. Definitely a Kate's dress, and now Ms Packham will have her telephone ringing off the hook.

Enough about Katie, how about Blair. She did pull that knee length dress off too. I could not stop staring at Blair in that episode (Princess and the Frog). She looked stunning. But the hair? I am not highly too sure. But it was something different. I like it, it was a different approach to Blair's usual conservative style.

Now, kept researching. &to my surprise well not really anymore, Jenny Packham has been in the Gossip Girl family for some time now. Dressing both Serena and Blair. I must say again, Eric Daman you are truly a star! I bet you Kate Middleton watches Gossip Girl and envied the sequinned dress off Blair &thought she could pull it off. well she did! Kudos!

Jenny Packham, you're something! and you know me, here are a few of my favvs from the Spring/Summer 11 Collection. Enjoy! they are dazzling. You will be dazed!

edgy yet still feminine
peachy tone
a touch of kimono style, lurrve
Kate's
so elegant &simplistic
perfect for fancy cocktail party
Blair's
closing dress! enough said

We've observed, noticed, glanced, dazed &dazed.
Winner of the Jenny Packham?
Let's all hail to Princess...
